Trace a shape
Open the booklet at one of its 30 templates, lay the clear sheet over the page and follow the outline with the pen. The plastic sets in seconds and does not stick to the sheet.
Peel it off
Lift the finished piece away from the sheet. Trim the loose ends with the safety scissors in the box.

Is it safe for my child?
Yes. Filupen prints at 40°C or less using low-temperature, non-toxic filament, so the tip is warm to the touch rather than hot. That is what separates it from the 3D pens that melt PLA at 200°C. We would still sit with a younger child for the first session or two, as you would with any craft tool.
What age is it right for?
Six to twelve is the sweet spot. Younger children manage well tracing the templates with an adult alongside them; older ones quickly move past the booklet and start inventing their own pieces.
Will they actually be able to make anything?
Yes, and that is what the booklet is for. It comes with 30 templates, and the first pieces are flat shapes traced over the page, which is why they work. Standing figures come a few sessions later, once they are joining pieces together.
What is the difference between the three kits?
First Creations is the pen and everything needed to start, with one 5-metre filament. Full Colour adds the 20-colour pack, so 105 metres in total, for £7 more. Two Creators is two of everything, for siblings.
What if filament stops coming out?
Usually a small piece left in the tip. With the pen warm, clear it with the cleaning needle included in the box. It takes a few seconds.
How long does the battery last?
Long enough for a full creative session, and it charges over USB between projects. They can draw with no cable attached, which is the whole point.
